Malatya Hospital has taken a proactive approach to protecting its structure during earthquakes by implementing a base isolation system. The recently experienced M7.8 earthquake in Turkey showcased this technology’s effectiveness as it absorbed the seismic energy.

A base isolation system is a method of seismic protection where the structure (superstructure) is separated from the base (foundation or substructure). By separating the structure from its base, the amount of energy transferred to the superstructure during an earthquake is significantly reduced.

‘Teachers Come To School Intoxicated’: Tehsildar Makes Surprise Visit At Govt School, Students Share Their Ordeals

SDM and Tehsildar reached for a surprise inspection of a government school in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhitarwar district.

The officers proceeded to the classroom and questioned the students about their teachers. While sharing their ordeals, students stated that teachers come to school and teach while intoxicated and carry bottles of alcohol in bags. The children said that there are four teachers in the school, but only one of them teaches. Following the children’s accusation, a departmental investigation was launched against the teachers.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh, conducted a successful trial for transporting tuberculosis medicines with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to the district hospital in Tehri Garhwal in Uttarakhand.

Gurugram-based drone start-up TechEagle on February 16 delivered 3 kg of tuberculosis medicines with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles. AIIMS Rishikesh has taken this initiative to supply ATT drugs to prevent TB with the incorporation of innovative interventions, which would likely reach the World Health Organization’s objective to eliminate TB.
