Youths from Malang Gad Hill risked their lives and rescued a cow calf stuck in the middle of a 300 feet deep valley for the last three days amid heavy rainfall in Ambernath Taluka of Thane district on 6 July. A young man descended into the valley and put a rope around the calf's limbs in an effort to save it. The calf was safely released when the other 10 to 15 kids used a rope to drag it up the hill.
