Heavy rainfall since Friday,17th December has led to rivers overflowing which have submerged many urban areas. The flood has affected over 22,000 people in eight states and territories, out of which 10,000 were are from the central state of Pahang according to an official website of the Government. The massive flood has affected the urban areas which have flooded shopping complexes, departmental stores among many others. More than 5,000 people fled their homes in Selangor - the richest state in the country which also surrounds the capital, Kuala Lumpur.
