On March 10, Bushra Mateen, a civil engineering student at SLN college of engineering in Karnataka's Raichur district, received the most gold medals at the convocation ceremony. Mateen presented 16 gold awards during the Visvesvaraya Technology Institute's 21st annual convocation in Belagavi. She broke Ahad Tarade (BE Civil) of the Karnataka Law Society's Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), Belagavi's record of 13 gold medals set in 2014. The awardee grabbed a lot of attention by wearing a hijab to the ceremony.
