A junior college in Karnataka's Udupi had denied entry to six students into their classrooms because of their hijabs. The principal of the college had mentioned that hijabs in classrooms break the uniformity amongst students. The girls have been out of their class for the past three days in protest while losing out on attendance. The principal of the school had also denied any talks with students' parents regarding the issue.
