During the event, vocalist Asha Bhosle paid tribute to her legendary singer-sister by humming the evergreen song "Aayega Aanewala" by #LataMangeshkar. Prime Minister Narendra #Modi accepted the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award on Sunday, remembering the legendary singer as an artist who contributed to the nation's development. Modi is the first winner of the medal, which he regards as his elder sister. Lata Mangeshkar died in February at the age of 92 from multiple organ failure.
