In his address to the summit, Modi described it as the "mahakumbh" of parliamentary practices from around the world, extending a warm welcome to the participants on behalf of India's 1.4 billion citizens. He emphasized the importance of parliaments as crucial arenas for debate and deliberation. Additionally, he praised India's achievements, including its moon landing and the successful conclusion of the G20 summit.

Notably, Canada was not represented, as per a report in Hindustan Times

The Prime Minister's office outlined the P20 Summit's focus on four key subjects: the transformation of people's lives through public digital platforms, women-led development, accelerating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and sustainable energy transition.
