A video doing rounds on social media shows two students cleaning the toilet of a government school in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district on August 26.

Several reports claim that the boys were directed to clean the toilet in exchange for five additional marks in their school examination.

Taking cognisance of the matter, District Education Officer J S Raghuvanshi said an official has been sent to the village to conduct an inquiry.

However, the District Collector Tanvi Sundriya encouraged the act and said that there was nothing wrong if students did such jobs.

“It would have been wrong if the teacher had asked students from a particular community to clean up the toilet,” District Collector Tanvi Soundriyal was quoted by PTI.

Sources have said that a family member shot the video when he found the two boys were cleaning the toilet of the school at the village Sihada.

According to the reports, one of the students told the family member that the school principal had asked them to clean the toilet for additional five marks in the examination.
