This Manipuri Woman Is Winning Belgians' Hearts With Her Cuisine

Indian cuisine at Belgium

Belgium has always been synonymous with chocolates, but, they love Indian food too. One girl is largely responsible for the Indian cuisine becoming famous in Belgium. Lulu Pheiga from Manipur is making Belgians go gaga over the delectable taste of Indian cuisine. With her little orange-coloured food truck which she calls Lulu’s Tribal Kitchen, the girl from the Rongmei Naga Tribe has been serving authentic tribal dishes to Belgian customers.

Swadeshi to Videshi

Westerners and Europeans are already very well acquainted with our desi butter chicken and tandooris. Lulu is doing a commendable job by popularising the lesser-known ethnic dishes of India from the tribal belts. So far, Lulu’s Tribal Kitchen has created ripples among the Belgians with its mouth-watering dishes. Her popularity has garnered 4.9 out of 5 stars on the official Facebook page.

There are about 7,000 people of Indian origin in Belgium, people from Gujarat and Rajasthan had earlier gone to Belgium for diamond trade. There are ISKCON, few religious associations and many of India’s IT companies in Belgium. Lulu adds to this famed list now.

Way to go, girl!
