Bihar DM Offers To Bear Expenses Of Daughters Of Martyred Soldiers From The State
On February 14, the nation lost its 44 brave Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in a suicide attack in the southern part of Kashmir. The worst attack in two decades of Kashmir conflict has left the family of martyrs and the entire nation in a mourning state. At this time of need, many have come forward to give their support and shoulder to the grieving family. In a similar gesture to support the family of the martyrs, District Magistrate (DM) of Bihar’s Sheikhpura, Inayat Khan, on Saturday, February 16, has offered to fund the education of two daughters of two of the CRPF troopers from the state.
Need support for all
On Saturday, thousands gathered in Bihar to say their last goodbyes to the slain CRPF jawans — Ratan Kumar Thakur and Sanjay Kumar Sinha, who were martyred in the Pulwama attack.
Soon after the tragic incident, Bihar DM Khan announced that she will be bearing the education cost and other expenses throughout the life of one daughter each of the two CRPF men.
The Bihar cadre IAS officer, Khan has also decided to donate her two days salary to the families of the two martyrs. This is not it; the DM has also asked her colleagues to donate at least their one day’s salary to the families of the martyred soldiers.
Opened a bank
According to the reports, the DM has also opened a bank account in Bihar’s Sheikhpura for others to come up and contribute to the families of the two martyred jawans.
“I have requested all government staff of my district to donate their one day’s salary to the families of the two martyrs,” she said. She added that whatever amount will be collected till 10 March, will be divided in two and will be given to the two families of the martyrs.
Jawan Ratan (30), who joined the service in 2011, is survived by his pregnant wife and a four-year-old son. The other martyr Sanjay (45), from Bihar who had just returned from his hometown just a few days ago, survived by two daughters and a son.
