Women’s Day: Do Women Lag Behind Men When It Comes To Making Financial Decisions?

Women’s Day celebrates the gentle yet courageous, strong yet humble and dynamic yet patient nature of all women. It is a celebration of the feminine nurture and the female power. Women have mastered the art of balancing their lives with a precision that is commendable and sets a brilliant example worth emulating.

Yet it is an oddity that they should lag behind their male counterparts when it comes to taking their own financial decisions.

Why do they take a back seat and not get involved in their finances? Why is it that they are not proactive when it comes to their own investments? Why do they just sign across dotted lines?

Well, this can be attributed to three major reasons:

  • Convenience of financial matters being taken care of by dependants and professionals
  • The paucity of time due to over-demanding work and home schedules.
  • Lack of comprehensive knowledge about the way financial processes function.

L&T Mutual Fund would like to break this trend and engage and empower women to get involved and decisive about their own finances.

This Woman’s Day we give a clarion call to all women to put an end to the practice of simply signing across the dotted line We urge them to go a step further, to do more, to act, and to GET INVOLVED.

With the aim of galvanizing as many women as possible to actively participate in their own financial decisions, we offer to you the #DontJustSignHere campaign. Get yourself educated and just don’t sign, get involved.
