In past few years in the automobile sector, the technologies have advanced much beyond the conventional thinking to provide solutions to the existing problems seeking driving features and safety for individuals.
Driving on Indian roads today is the biggest challenge and is considered as a task for the drivers because of poor infrastructure, unexpected road blocks/speed halts, and the rampant disregard for road regulations. These factors make it tough for the driver to experience ease and comfort apart from this due to the abrupt condition it also effect the fuel efficiency of the car.

Keeping these factors in mind, MSIL has introduced AGS (Auto Gear Shift) technology, promising to have experience hassle drive in every condition. There have been other alternatives to reduce the driver’s efforts like automatic transmission but still the majority wheels on the Indian roads are with manual-transmission which is more familiar to Indian drivers. Moreover, automatic-transmission vehicles are very costly for a large segment of Indian consumers. In an effort to combine Automatic and Manual Transmission System the introduction of this revolutionary technology has been in place now and is called as AGS (Auto Gear Shift).

How it’s better? In manual transmission the selection of gears (depending on speed) are dependent on drivers changing the gears by using a clutch. So, in simple words the gear shift-speed depends on driver’s prowess, and some may not be able to extract the maximum output and it is very tiresome in stop & start situations as well.

In the automatic transmission, there are same technical aspects of gears like we have in the manual, but instead of the conventional clutch it has an automatic mechanism called torque converter to change gear automatically.
It is very easy to operate and runs smooth as well. Car owners are not too familiar with this technology as they have cultured with a driving habit and pattern.

AGS (auto gear Shift)provides both drivability option of an automatic & manual depending on drivers need and style without hassle of pressing clutch paddle. In an automatic drive mode, the gears shift takes place at correct speed which is electronically controlled. Even while driving in manual mode it’s just shift up and down movement which needs to be controlled as per driver’s requirements. This technology also gives you an exceptional feature to shift in fly between the automatic to manual and vice versa even at any speed or condition which means in during the run the option to shifting can take place in either transmission mode.

So this technology gives freedom from frequent pressing clutch and is very comfortable during stop-and-go traffic due to its creep function, which lead to have move the vehicle once the breaks are released. The even shift at correct RPM leads gives better mileage.
The experience can be done only when this AGS technology is tested and veteran with a drive. In the reliable names Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is one the cars available in Indian market to opt from.
Is this AGS technology really is a solution for hassle-free driving?  Share your perspective.
