While A Man Was Stabbed To Death In Broad Day-Light, The Crowd Kept Making A Video

A Smartphone does not necessarily make one smart. On the contrary, it can turn its consumers into dumb and mute spectators who remain voyeurs of a chilling mid-day murder in the midst of a crowd of hundreds of people. At least the incident which took place at KSRTC bus stand in Hassan, Karnataka, on Wednesday seems to bear out this belief. A young man was murdered in broad daylight in the middle of a crowd of people while all those standing nearby kept video-recording the entire episode instead of intervening or informing the police.

Two young men broke out in an argument and physical skirmish at a roadways bus stand, Hassan, Karnataka. They continued to attack each other for about 8 minutes but the crowd did not take any action to stop this bickering. Instead, they foolishly kept on recording a video of this incident which went viral, thus alluring the attention of the district police which then sprung into action. At present, they are contemplating to nab the murderer and take legal action against him.

According to the police, the victim and the culprit were standing at the bus stop around 4:30 pm on Wednesday. Suddenly one of them named Sunil started arguing with Dhanush of Byadrahali village. Sunil is a resident of Vijayanagar and had come there with his friend. Both of them questioned Dhanush about a girl and started beating him.

The three were locked in a scuffle for about 8 – 10 minutes. In the meantime, Sunil inserted a knife in Dhanush’s stomach due to which he fell on the ground. Dhanush kept on squirming for some time after which he died on the spot. Despite so many people around them, the culprit disappeared into the crowd. When the employees of the roadways informed the police, then Dhanush’s family members came to know about the incident.

The Logical Indian community is appalled at this apathy of the bystanders! A Smartphone is supposed to make life easier for its users and those around them – it is not meant to turn the users into dumb and mute spectators who simply record a gruesome murder taking place right under their noses in broad day light. To video record, the incident instead of trying to help the victim or nabbing the murderer when he tried to flee is the height of indifference to the suffering of a fellow being.
