TLI Apology: It Seems That The First Female Education Minister Of France Was Not A Shepherd

On April 20, 2016 we had published an article on our website about Najat Belkacem, the first female Minister of Education & Research of France.

In the title of the article, we had mentioned how she went on to become a minister from being a shepherd in Morocco.

We apologise to our community members on the ground that the title was factually wrong. It seems she was not a shepherd. In 2013, in an interview given to a French media house, she had said, “I have memories etched in memory in which I accompany my grandfather to keep the goats, for example. Others where you will find the water at the well, because we had no running water or electricity, either. I see us very well trying to get off the mountain tap.”

From where inference was drawn that she was a shepherd and which cannot be ascertained by any means as of now.

Also the image of the girl used is not of Najat Belkacem but from UNICEF website, it was pointed out by French newspaper lemonde.

We would also like to thank our community members Devendra Mishra, who brought it to our notice using report error tab, which is available below each article on our website. You as readers help us to grow and correct our mistakes.
