UP: Emotional Students & Parents Took Out Rally To Protest Transfer Of Their 'Best' School Teacher

In a heart touching incidence reported from Agra, students of a primary school in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh took out a rally to hand over a memo to the District Magistrate seeking cancellation of transfer of their teacher, Amit Singh Yadav, reported the Times Of India.

Amit (30) a school teacher, was teaching at the Mainpuri school since 2014. Since then he has spent over Rs 2 Lakh from his pocket to paint the school walls and improve the infrastructure of the school. However, after receiving numerous threats from the former pradhan of the village, Amit asked for his transfer.

Students gave him a Farewell

On his farewell day, not only students, the entire village was shedding tears and pleading him to stay. After requesting him, the villagers took out a rally to meet the District Magistrate to demand the cancellation of his transfer. During his farewell, a student said that their teacher (Amit) has done a lot for the school and the students. The student added that the teacher had changed the mentality of the residents of the village towards education. Another student said that no one ever taught the way “Amit sir taught them”.

While talking about the rally by the resident, one of the parents of a class ll student said that they want Amit to be back and this is the reason they are approaching the District Magistrate.

Amit told The Times Of India that his work was recognised by Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA), Vijay Pratap Singh and other officials in the district. He said that he still gets calls from parents of some students. However, he has no plans to return due to his security. He further said that wherever he will be posted he will do the best for his students.

He never revealed the cause of dispute with the village pradhan but said that he is a teacher and wants a peaceful life. Manipuri District Magistrate said that he has no problem to take Amit back. He further added that if Amit returns than he would ask BSA to appoint him there again.

The Logical Indian Take

The Logical Indian salutes Amit for diligently teaching students and selflessly doing good for the school’s infrastructure. We hope he continues doing the great work wherever he goes.
