Locals of Sukhpura Chowk found her lying unconscious by a roadside with torn clothes in Rohtak, near new Delhi on last Wednesday. The family has accused the perpetrators of carrying out the attack to seek revenge for the 2013 verdict.

The victim was admitted to Rohtak Civil Hospital, where she told that police that she was kidnapped in daylight by the same men, who had earlier kidnapped her in 2013. She alleged that the five men dragged her inside their car, drugged her and then raped her again.

Two of the five culprits — Amit, Mausam, Raju, Akash and Sandeep — were arrested in 2013. All of them are from Bhiwani. Fresh FIR has been registered against the five men, but they are still absconding.

The victim’s brother told Hindustan Times, “The accused were constantly threatening us to compromise outside the court. They even offered us a hefty amount for settlement. But we didn’t agree. They are men from upper caste and we are Dalits. It seems they can do whatever they want without fearing the law.”

He further said that their family had requested for police protection, but the police had refused.

The police department is now conducting investigation in full swing to nab the culprits.
