Man Labelled As Terrorist By Landlord After He Denied To Pay House Maintenance Charge

A man from Virar, Maharashtra has filed an FIR saying attempts were being made to brand him as a terrorist after he had an argument with his landlord over maintenance charges.

30-year-old Saeed Sher Ali Khan submitted Whatsapp messages and photos to the Virar police to prove his case. Khan, in the FIR wrote that his friend had shown him the forwarded message on September 22. In the photo, he was seen riding a bike with his friend and an attached message, “If you see this man anywhere, catch him and take him to the police, because he is a terrorist. He is taking down peoples’ details. Be alert.”

He landed up in this problem because he had refused to pay extra maintenance charges to his landlord, Salaam Younis Sheikh.

Shaikh had demanded Rs 800 extra monthly maintenance charges, Rs 500 for electricity, Rs 500 for parking and Rs 200 for five gallons of water from Khan. Khan was ready to pay the monthly maintenance and electricity charges but he refused to pay the rest.

Eventually, Khan’s tempo truck was set on fire by unknown people. He was also beaten up by a group of 20 men, including Shaikh during the month of Ramzaan.

The Virar Police station has taken up the case and now conducting a thorough investigation.
