The rankings are based on indicators like academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty and student ratio, staff with a PhD, papers per faculty, citations per paper, international faculty, and international students.
According to the rankings, IIT Bombay was ranked number 8 among top institutions in BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). Jagdeep Dhankar, the chancellor of IIT Bombay, said that he was confident that the universities would do even better in the days to come.
About 11 institutions achieved a perfect score of 100 under the criterion of ‘staff with PhD’ indicator, proving India’s dedication towards research. Alagappa University, Anna University, and Savitribai Phule Pune University were among other state government-run institutes to feature on the list.
