Fact Check

The person in the picture is not 47 years old Moinuddin from Kerala, but Pankaj Kumar Mishra, a 30-year-old from Uttar Pradesh who had taken admission in JNU this year. Previously, he was a student of Tata Institute of Social Sciences and had worked in in the health sector in rural Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and is currently pursuing his M.Phil in Social Medicine & Community Health from JNU.

His Twitter Profile is attached below, where he resembles the person in the black shirt in the photograph.

Meanwhile, he also put out a series of tweets hitting out at trolls who were defaming him.

Dear Troll and Bhakt, I am here only, I am Social Medicine and Community Health Research Scholar. I took admission after working 4 years in Community health in UP and Bihar. Do you have any problem.. will you people decide when one person should study?@AltNews @AMISHDEVGAN https://t.co/EA75YtJeuh

The Logical Indian reached out to Mishra, who confirmed that he joined the University this year to pursue an M.Phil course in Social Medicine and Community Health this year. He said that he was born in 1989.

The Logical Indian gained access to Mishra’s LinkedIn profile where he is said to have studied from Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj University, Kanpur from 2006 to 2009.

Conclusion

There is no doubt that the image has been shared on social media has a wrong context to it, defaming the person as well as using a wrong age to do so. Hence, the posts about him are fake and misleading.
