Kushinagar District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan and Chief Development Officer Gunjan Dwivedi inspected the Bansi river ghat. Administration employees were busy cleaning the river, DM and CDO entered the river and willingly cleaned the water body with the other workers after observing its dirty state. He gave the message of sanitisation by cleaning water hyacinth from the river.

We’re grateful for such a step, as rivers need to be saved and protected for a better life!

Project Ujala: Lucknow Girl Equips Hundreds Of Bicycles With Flashlights To Prevent Road Crashes

Grief-stricken by the death of her maternal grandfather in a bicycle accident, a 22-year-old BBA LLB student in Lucknow has taken it upon herself to make riding a safer experience for others.
Khushi Pandey from Ashiyana Colony has been fixing red flashlights on bicycles, an initiative she calls ‘Project Ujala’.

This initiative gives rechargeable safety lights to daily wage workers who cycle to work to continue earning their livelihood. Her motto is not only to attach reflecting lights on bicycles only on foggy days but to avoid road crashes, whether day or night, summer or winter.

To ensure that Mumbai remains a Clean and Green City, the BMC has drawn up action plans to preserve the pristine surroundings of different sea beaches. This video shows visuals of tidy Mumbai’s Mahim, Shivaji Park Dadar, and Prabhadevi coasts. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has ensured such daily cleanup drives.

We appreciate such measures as it makes the beach a nicer, safer place and also improve the coastal and ocean ecosystem!

Inspection Carried Out In Coimbatore To Identify Low-Lying Powerlines Dangerous For Elephants

Joint inspections by staff from the Forest Department and the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) have started identifying and rectifying sagging power lines in villages bordering forests in the Coimbatore district. The team has also been working on solutions like insulation with Wildlife Institute of India.

The exercise got a thrust after a tusker got electrocuted from a powerline on private land bordering a forest in Poochiyur village on March 25. The Tangedco staff also fixed barbed wire fences around electric posts at places witnessing the frequent movement of elephants.

New Delhi: Foam From Toxic Industrial Waste Seen Floating In Yamuna River

Yamuna River Pollution: Pink foam from toxic industrial waste was seen floating in the Yamuna river near Okhla Barrage in New Delhi on March 21. However, this is not the first time toxic foam has been spotted on the Yamuna river.

Last year, just ahead of Chhath Puja in October, heavy foam was spotted on the river. The Delhi Jal Board then sprayed chemicals on the toxic foam to dissolve it.
