Planting native tree saplings is essential in promoting biodiversity and preserving natural habitats. Additionally, native tree species provide food and habitat for various animals and help maintain the ecological balance.

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is situated at the base of the Zabarwan Range and next to Dal Lake in Srinagar, offering visitors a truly enchanting experience. The garden is expected to prolong the tourism season in the valley by an additional two months. Jammu and Kashmir chief secretary A.K. Mehta inaugurated the Tulip Garden in J&K’s Srinagar on March 23.

‘Elephant Whisperers’ Couple Becomes Foster Parents To Orphaned Elephant Calf
Bomman and Bellie, the couple who shot to fame after they were featured in the Oscar-winning short film The Elephant Whisperers, will now raise another orphaned calf whose mother elephant was electrocuted in Dharmapuri district at the Theppakadu elephant camp in Mudumalai, Tamil Nadu.
The decision came after the efforts to reunite the calf with its herd in Dharmapuri failed.

Indian Women Boxers Recreate History, Clinch Four Golds At World Boxing Championship
On March 26, Indian women boxers recreated history and brought home four gold medals at the IBA Women’s World Boxing Championship. India stood on the top in the gold medal tally at the championship that was held at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex, New Delhi. Nitu Ghanghas (48kg), Nikhat Zareen (50kg), Lovlina Borgohain (75), and Saweety Boora (81kg) won gold for the country. Nikhat defeated Nguyem Thi Tam of Vietnam and won gold for a second consecutive year.
ISRO’s LVM-3 Successfully Launches 36 Satellites, Completes OneWeb Constellation
Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) LVM-3, in its second commercial launch on March 26, placed 36 OneWeb satellites in orbit, completing the first-generation constellation enabling the UK-based company to initiate global coverage this year. The mission launch took place from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
Sunday’s was the sixth launch for India’s heaviest rocket LVM-3 – which includes the launch of Chandrayaan-2 in 2019 – and the second one where it demonstrated the capability of launching multiple satellites in low earth orbit.
