Tamil Nadu: 15 Hectares Of Mangroves Planted At Killai In Cuddalore
Fifteen hectares of mangroves were planted at Killai in Cuddalore district under Green Tamil Nadu Mission. As per the information, 67.8 sq km of mangroves will be cultivated in the next five years in Tamil Nadu. The fishbone model is used to allow water to reach every nook and cranny of the mangrove area by diverting water from the existing creeks and channels. #TamilNadu #Environment #Mangroves
Workshop & Mock Drill For Forest Fire Disasters Conducted In Tamil Nadu
As the summer season approaches in the southern states of India, the government is putting in place measures to ensure that forest fires are minimised to the greatest degree possible.
Workshops and mock drills were conducted in Tamil Nadu to prepare the DFOs (Divisional Forest Officers) for situations where they will need to suppress forest fires promptly.
While sharing the video, @supriyasahuias wrote, “As dry season starts, forests are at great risk of Forest Fire disasters. Teams need to be alert and on their toes. Turkey Earthquake: Victims Get Treatment At Indian Army’s Field Hospital In Iskenderun
The Indian Army’s 60 Para Field Hospital has treated as many as 106 earthquake-affected victims in Turkey’s Iskenderun, Hatay, till February 10. India had launched Operation Dost, To help Turkey with the rescue mission and medical aid. It is a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) mission with NDRF and Army teams reaching Turkey within hours of the disaster.
Uttrakhand Protest: Section 144 Imposed In Dehradun Following Mass Protest Against Paper Leak
Several students and members of the state’s unemployed association continued their protest on Sunday against various paper leak incidents in Dehradun. Section 144 was imposed in the state following mass protests which turned violent, and many protesters and police officers got injured.
