The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the Class 12 revaluation and marks verification results for the 2024–25 academic session on July 17, 2025. Students who applied for verification of marks, photocopy of evaluated answer sheets, or revaluation can now check their updated scores on the official CBSE results website results.cbse.nic.in.

Over 28,000 requests were processed this year under CBSE’s revised transparent procedure, which allows students first to access photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets before applying for revaluation. Marks may have increased, decreased, or remained the same; updated digital mark sheets will be issued accordingly.

Enhanced Transparency and Revised Process for Student Confidence

This year, CBSE introduced significant changes to the post-result grievance redressal process to boost fairness and clarity. After the initial result declaration on May 13, 2025, students could apply for their photocopy of answer sheets between May 21 and May 27, 2025, paying a nominal fee of ₹700 per subject.

Those unsatisfied with the evaluation could then apply for marks verification or revaluation from May 28 to June 3, 2025, with prescribed fees of ₹500 per answer book for verification and ₹100 per question for revaluation. This staged approach empowers students to make informed decisions based on the examiner’s comments and assessed answers. Updated results were released in batches (Lot 1 from July 17), with further updates ongoing.

Context and Performance Data from CBSE 2025 Board Exams

The Class 12 results for 2025 saw a pass percentage of 88.39%, marking a slight improvement from previous years. Girls outperformed boys substantially, with pass rates of 91.64% versus 85.70%. The transgender category recorded a remarkable 100% pass rate. Over 17 lakh students had registered, with approximately 16.9 lakh actually appearing for the exams.

The revaluation and verification process is a vital mechanism to address students’ concerns, especially since these marks can impact higher education admissions and scholarships. CBSE’s updated procedures show a commitment to increasing transparency and easing student anxiety around result accuracy.
