A KSRTC bus conductor allegedly pushed a 16-year-old girl out of the moving bus for carrying an incorrect bus pass. The victim has been identified as Bhoomika, a student at Jyothi Kendriya Vidyalaya in Bengaluru’s Yelachenahalli.

At around 3 PM on November 11, Bhoomika boarded the bus headed towards Kanakapura. She had a student pass, however, the conductor claimed that such passes are not allowed and she would have to get a ticket.

When she requested the conductor to let her get down at the next bus stop, he refused and asked her to leave immediately. When she refused, the conductor allegedly pushed her out of the running bus.

Falling flat on her face, Bhoomika sustained severe injuries on her face, forehead and left knee, and also suffered broken teeth. People in the vicinity rushed Bhoomika to a nearby hospital. She later filed a complaint against the conductor with Konanakunte police.

The accused has been identified as Shivashankar, a bus conductor with the KSRTC. He is attached to the Harohalli bus depot. An FIR has been registered against the accused under section 325 (Punishment for voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

“The accused has denied the allegations and claimed that the girl fell out of the bus herself. The case is still under investigation,” a police official from Konanakunte police station told The Logical Indian
