‘Sukh Chain Ki Zindagi Jiyo, Roti Khao, Warna Meri Goli To Hai Hi’: PM Modi Warns Pakistan After Operation Sindoor

After a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, PM Modi warns Pakistan to choose peace or face strong Indian retaliation.

On May 26, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern warning to Pakistan during a rally in Bhuj, Gujarat, urging the people of Pakistan to reject terrorism and choose peace. This comes in the wake of Operation Sindoor, India’s large-scale military retaliation against terrorist camps following the deadly April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 innocent lives.

Modi emphasised that only Pakistan’s citizens can cure their country of the “disease of terrorism,” warning that India remains prepared to respond decisively to any threats. Indian officials, including External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, have reiterated India’s commitment to combating terrorism while maintaining measured and responsible diplomacy.

Modi’s Message: Peace or Peril

At the rally, Prime Minister Modi addressed a crowd of thousands after inaugurating development projects worth over ₹53,400 crore in Bhuj, a region historically significant for its resilience and patriotism. Modi’s message was clear and direct: “Sukh chain ki zindagi jiyo, roti khao, warna meri goli to hai hi (Live a peaceful life, eat your bread, or else my bullet is always ready).”

He urged the people of Pakistan to take responsibility for their nation’s future by rejecting terrorism, calling it a “disease” that only they can cure. Modi accused the Pakistani establishment of using terrorism as “bread and butter,” alleging that terror outfits are nurtured and protected by elements within Pakistan’s military and government.

He highlighted India’s progress as the world’s fourth-largest economy, contrasting it with Pakistan’s alleged dependence on terror tactics. Modi also paid tribute to the women of Kutch, recalling their role in India’s 1971 war and symbolically receiving a sindoor plant from them, underscoring the spirit of courage and sacrifice.

Operation Sindoor and Its Implications

The Prime Minister’s remarks followed the completion of Operation Sindoor, a carefully planned and executed military campaign targeting nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. This operation was launched in response to the brutal Pahalgam attack on April 22, which left 26 civilians dead, including women and children.

Indian military sources report that Operation Sindoor resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists and significant damage to militant infrastructure, delivering a strong message against cross-border terrorism. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar described the strikes as “measured, precise, and non-escalatory,” aimed at dismantling terror networks without provoking wider conflict.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and political leaders like Congress MP Shashi Tharoor have supported India’s firm stance, emphasising national unity and the need for international cooperation to hold terror sponsors accountable.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

The Logical Indian recognises the gravity of India’s security challenges and supports the country’s right to defend itself against terrorism. However, we firmly believe that lasting peace can only be achieved through sustained dialogue, empathy, and mutual understanding.

The rhetoric of military might, while sometimes necessary, should not overshadow efforts to foster people-to-people connections and regional cooperation. True progress requires addressing the root causes of conflict and creating opportunities for coexistence and harmony.
