In a tragic incident in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, an eight-year-old girl named Aafiya Tyagi was shot dead by a group of nine men targeting her brother, Mohd Sahil, over a long-standing rivalry. Tehseen Tyagi, Aafiya’s father, reported that around nine armed men entered their house and began firing indiscriminately. While Tehseen and his other children managed to escape to safety, Aafiya was hit by a bullet. She was rushed to a nearby health centre but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Superintendent of Police (Crime) Awanish Kumar confirmed that the attack stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Sahil and the assailants.

Mohd Tahseen recounted the horrifying events: “An hour after Sahil returned from the market following a brief argument, at least nine men forcibly entered our house and started abusing us. Suddenly, they opened fire. The feud reportedly began two years ago over social media comments between Sahil and one of the main suspects, Mashroor.
