Government policies, rules, issues related to policy could be sometimes boring to read and learn about. Even if you get down to read, all these jargon filled policy documents with complex language will put you off and sound like a boring social studies lecture in school. Especially for the youngsters, this is like a no-go area.
To make this entire process interesting as well as simple to understand, Factly has launched a new show ‘DECODE’. Speaking about the show, Rakesh Dubbudu, Founder of Factly said, “DECODE primarily explains the processes and policies related to public & government through the lens of a common man in a funny, yet interesting manner. Through this show, we are targeting the younger audience and plan to give them a perspective about the current situation in the country. All the little things that we take for granted and pass our notice, DECODE aims at bringing these issues to the notice of the audience. The show will run in seasons and the first season is on ‘Elections’ since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections are underway”. According to Rakesh, each episode will have a call to action. Factly plans to run seasons on understanding parliament, banking & financial information for common citizens etc.
In the first season on Elections, DECODE addresses issues like voter registration, election history, political parties, election funding, relevant laws, model code of conduct, affidavits to be filed by candidates, about NOTA, women representation in elections, Voter cheatsheet, Manifestos etc.
For example, in the 4th episode on electoral & political funding, the show discusses the following issues related to electoral & political funding in India – What are the current regulations/laws related to political donations? – What are the issues with the current laws/regulations? – The issues with the Electoral Bond Scheme – The details of electoral trusts – What are the expenditure limits of candidates & political parties? – What is the way forward?
