I Am The Man I Am Today Because Of Her

“I was a stroke victim, post which I couldn’t move the right side of my body, but I never gave up. I got into a wheelchair in one week and went back to whatever work I could manage, working half day. Today I’m 98% recovered but that period of paralysis taught me a lot about life. It taught me the importance of controlling your mind and the huge influence of family. My children have taken care of me and my wife stood by me like a rock– not only through this, but everything in my life. I used to work in shipping and was on call 24 hours a day, I quit multiple jobs and was away from home a lot, but she never complained. I’m the man I am today because of her. We had a love marriage and the one golden reason why we stayed together for so many years is this — we would never go to sleep angry with each other. She isn’t here today, but I still love her like its the first day we met.”
