Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) Announces 11th Edition of International Sustainability Summit: “Sustainability 2.0: Leveraging Opportunities, Balancing Trade-Offs and Navigating Pitfalls”

Press Release: New Delhi, 28 October 2024 – The Centre for Responsible Business (CRB) is thrilled to announce the 11th edition of its annual sustainability summit, India and Sustainability Standards (ISS), scheduled from November 13 to November 15, 2024, at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. This year’s theme, “Sustainability 2.0: Leveraging Opportunities, Balancing Trade-Offs and Navigating Pitfalls,” aims to ignite essential discussions on how businesses can effectively tackle sustainability challenges while fostering innovation and impactful solutions.

The summit will convene over 1,500 participants, featuring 150+ speakers and 50+ partners, including industry leaders, private sector representatives, esteemed academicians, policymakers, civil society members, and youth advocates. These diverse stakeholders will engage in dialogues focused on sustainable practices across various sectors.

Rijit Sengupta, Chief Executive Officer of CRB, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “At CRB, we believe that sustainability must go beyond mere compliance; it should be integral to every business strategy. The ISS Summit has become a vital platform for advancing sustainability discussions and catalyzing collaborative actions. As we enter this crucial phase of ‘Sustainability 2.0,’ we recognize that incremental changes are insufficient; we must pursue systemic transformations that address complex trade-offs while leveraging collective intelligence to develop innovative solutions. We invite all stakeholders to join us in this journey of co-creation and innovation.”

Summit Highlights:

Day One (November 13, 2024): The summit will commence with high-level plenary sessions covering topics such as:

  • India and the Global Landscape on Sustainability and Climate
  • Road to Viksit and Sustainable Bharat 2047
  • EU-India Collaborative Pathways on SDGs: Aligning Policy & Practices

Days Two and Three: Sessions will delve into regenerative agriculture, business and human rights, responsible practices in global value chains, GHG reduction strategies for SMEs, sustainable palm oil initiatives, circular economy principles, and gender roles in sustainable businesses.

Notable partners for this year’s summit include the Delegation of the European Union to India and Bhutan, ISEAL Alliance, Friedrich Naumann Foundation South Asia, Coal India Limited, Forest Stewardship Council, among others.

The event aims to foster proactive approaches for long-term sustainable impact by identifying challenges and exploring innovative solutions across environmental, social, and economic dimensions.
