Seven-year-old environmentalist and climate actionist Roohi Mohazzab from Kozhikode met Vice President of India Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan at Lok Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram on September 3, 2026. During the meeting, Roohi shared her work on tree protection, paper conservation, recycling, climate compassion and children’s environmental action, while presenting her message, “SAVE PAPER • SAVE TREES • SAVE EARTH”.

She also shared her vision for Roohi’s Paper Bank and presented a plant pot and artwork expressing compassion and solidarity with Nepal. The Vice President appreciated her efforts, gifted her chocolates and signed her recycled-paper notebook with a message praising her concern for humanity.

A Young Climate Voice

During the meeting, Roohi spoke about encouraging children and schools to collect and recycle used paper through Roohi’s Paper Bank. The Vice President showed keen interest in her initiatives and wrote in her notebook: “Your Concern for the Humanity is extraordinary, God bless you Keep the good thinking all the time.” He also accepted the plant pot and artwork presented by Roohi.

The seven-year-old, who is described in the release as the World’s Youngest United Nations Keynote Speaker, World’s Youngest Environmentalist and Climate Actionist, said, “I may be only a child, but I believe every child can help protect Mother Earth.”

From Paper To Peace

Roohi’s environmental vision is expanding to include climate compassion, international cooperation and peace, with a focus on forests, water, biodiversity, responsible consumption and the protection of Earth’s shared resources. The release said her compassion for Nepal was strengthened by the recent floods there and their impact on children, trees and communities. Roohi hopes to visit affected areas, support children and participate in planting and protecting trees.

Through The Children Movement for Climate Compassion Foundation, she envisions initiatives such as Tree Bank Nurseries, Roohi’s Paper Bank and cross-border children’s environmental projects, with a long-term vision of cooperation among children across 195 countries. Her central question is: “Can children from different countries work together to protect the resources that humanity must share peacefully?”

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

Roohi’s meeting with the Vice President highlights how environmental action can also become a language of compassion, cooperation and peace. Her message moves beyond protecting trees and conserving paper to imagining a world where children across borders work together to protect shared resources.

At a time when environmental responsibility requires participation from everyone, her belief that one small action can grow into a wider movement offers a hopeful reminder that age need not be a barrier to positive change.

Can children-led environmental action become a stronger bridge for compassion, cooperation and peace across communities and countries?
