In our country, every day many patients lose their lives just because they don’t get timely treatment. Seeing the rise in population and so the traffic woes, it has become almost impossible for the ambulance to reach their destination without being stopped in a traffic. Many times, motorists also create trouble as they think their time is more important than the life of a patient in the ambulance.

The state government of Karnataka has issued strict orders to the Road Transport Department and the police to cancel the license of those who halts the passage or try to overtake an ambulance in an emergency.

As reproted by Daiji world, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said “The heavy traffic on roads makes life difficult for ambulance drivers. Overtaking them adds to their woes. To prevent it, we are contemplating licence cancellation”. He urged motorists to make way for ambulances transporting the sick, on grounds of humanity.

The announcement was made at an event where CM launched 150 government-run Arogya Kavacha 108 ambulance services.

As there is already Good Samaritan Laws, the govt. in each state must make citizen aware of their responsibilities when it comes to giving passage to an ambulance.
