WBSSC Declares Assistant Teacher Exam Results for Higher Secondary Level; Here’s How to Check Your Scores

WBSSC publishes written exam results for higher secondary teacher recruitment, progressing toward final appointments.

Supported by

The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has published the results for the written examination conducted on September 14, 2025, for higher secondary level (Classes XI-XII) assistant teacher recruitment.

The recruitment drive is part of filling 12,514 vacancies at the higher secondary level within a total 35,726 assistant teacher posts across the state.

Candidates can check their results and scores out of 60 by logging into the commission’s official website dashboard. Document verification and interview processes are scheduled to commence from November 17, with the government aiming to complete recruitment by December 2025.

Background and Examination Details

The State Level Selection Test (SLST) for Classes XI and XII was conducted at 478 centres, with over 2,29,000 candidates appearing. The process has been instated following the Supreme Court’s annulment in April 2025 of a flawed 2016 recruitment process which led to the termination of over 17,000 teachers.

The SLST shortlisting is based on written test performance, and final appointments will consider academic records, interviews, and document verification. The commission is simultaneously running recruitment for secondary level and non-teaching staff posts, with exams for some scheduled in early 2026.

Results Announcement

SSC Chairperson Siddhartha Majumdar announced the release of final answer keys for candidates to cross-verify their marks. Education Minister Bratya Basu has expressed the government’s commitment to swiftly complete the recruitment, reinforcing transparency and fairness.

The preliminary interview list will be released shortly, followed by document verification from mid-November. This recruitment drive is integral to addressing the long-standing shortage of qualified teachers in West Bengal’s government schools, enhancing education quality at critical secondary stages.
