“I tell my story, not because it is unique, but because it is not. It is the story of many girls.”-Malala Yousafzai  (Nobel Peace Prize awardee)

What Malala faced is just not about her. It is about every girl who has fought for her rights, and fought to change the world. Malala was shot in the head because she dared to take a stand against the Taliban diktat against girls’ education. Little did they realise they were giving birth to the legend of “Malala”.

On International Women’s Day, Nat Geo seeks to honour all women by showcasing the inspiring and extraordinary story of one girl who is changing the world. It is the story of Malala Yousafzai, who’s revolutionizing the cause of girls’ education and is also championing women empowerment everywhere. Nat Geo is airing its MegaDoc of the Month: He Named Me Malala on 8th March at 9pm.
