On March 28th, India's Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra presented the Padma Shri Award At the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. President Ram Nath Kovind presented the prize to the javelin superstar, dressed in a Kurta-pyjama with a Nehru jacket and watched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Javelin star Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics after throwing a spear 87.58 metres. He is the second Indian to win an Olympic gold medal in an individual event. Abhinav Bindra had previously won a gold medal in shooting for India in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
