As Omicron tally has surged to 358, with Delhi and Maharashtra having the highest cases recording 57 and 54 respectively. PM Modi directed top officials dealing with India’s Covid situation to maintain a “high level of vigil and alertness at all levels. He also requested officials to ensure that the health system in the States, from the district level itself, is strengthed and prepared to meet challenges posed by the new Omicron variant.
