15 States And UTs Have Lower Than 22 District Level Hospital Beds Per 1 Lakh Population: NITI Aayog Report

On September 30 the NITI Aayog released a study called ‘ Best Practices in the Performance of District Hospitals’ which revealed that a district hospital in India has on average 24 beds per 1 lakh population. Revealing the under-preparedness of district-level healthcare infrastructure for the Coronavirus outbreak, the report is essential in understanding the need for better healthcare infrastructure.
