The latest 2018 Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) report was released on September 20 by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI) which showed that 270 million people in India have moved out of poverty between 2005-06 and 2015-16.
