Urmila Sanawar Claims Police Are Hunting Her After Alleging VIP Links in Ankita Bhandari Case

BJP leadership is monitoring Urmila Sanawar’s claims of police intimidation and VIP links in the Ankita Bhandari case.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national leadership has reportedly sought a detailed report on the political instability in Uttarakhand caused by a series of viral videos from actress Urmila Sanawar.

Sanawar has alleged that high-ranking party officials were the “VIPs” seeking “special services” at the resort where 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari was murdered in 2022.

In her latest broadcast, Sanawar made a sensational claim that the Uttarakhand Police are “hunting her down” to suppress her evidence.

While the BJP central leadership monitors these tremors, senior leaders have dismissed the claims as a malicious conspiracy and have initiated legal action against the actress.

Urmila Sanawar’s Video

A significant development in this escalating saga is Sanawar’s public allegation that she is being actively pursued by state law enforcement agencies. In her recent videos, she expressed fear for her safety, claiming that the Uttarakhand Police are attempting to track her location and silence her broadcasts.

This claim has added a layer of urgency to the controversy, as she continues to name prominent political figures and share purported call recordings.

Sanawar asserts that the pressure from the administration is a direct result of her naming individuals who she believes were shielded during the initial 2022 investigation into the receptionist’s tragic death.

Political Tremors, VIP Allegations

The BJP central leadership is reportedly concerned about the “discomfort” these videos are causing among established leaders in the state.

Sanawar’s serialised broadcasts have reopened the most sensitive wound in Uttarakhand politics: the unidentified “VIP” for whom Ankita was allegedly pressured to provide “extra services.” By publicly linking senior party members to this mystery, Sanawar has provided the opposition with significant political ammunition.

The continuous social media presence of the actress, combined with her claims of revealing suppressed layers of the murder, has forced the ruling party into a defensive stance just as they seek to move past the 2022 incident.

Legal Retaliation

Senior BJP figures, including state in-charge Dushyant Kumar Gautam, have vehemently denied the allegations, labelling them a “well-planned defamation campaign.”

Gautam has formally requested the Home Secretary to remove the content and has threatened a defamation suit, citing his unblemished 47-year political career.

Haridwar Police have already registered an FIR against Sanawar and her husband, Suresh Rathore, for allegedly circulating misleading and edited clips intended to cause public mischief.

Despite the criminal cases and the reported police search, Sanawar remains defiant, promising to release more photographs and documents that she claims will prove the VIP involvement.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

At The Logical Indian, we believe that the pursuit of justice for Ankita Bhandari must be transparent and beyond the reach of political convenience or administrative intimidation.

The claims of an actress being “hunted” by the police for raising questions about a high-profile murder are deeply concerning for any functioning democracy.

While the authenticity of social media allegations must be verified through due process, the state’s response must focus on investigating the leads rather than just penalising the messenger.
