On March 20, 2025, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed loans worth ₹55 crore to 1,423 young entrepreneurs in Gonda under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan (M-YUVA). He announced an increase in loan limits from ₹5 lakh to ₹10 lakh starting next year and emphasised the importance of youth empowerment for Uttar Pradesh’s self-reliance.

The CM also inaugurated a start-up exhibition and distributed toolkits to artisans under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme. He urged beneficiaries to report corruption and assured strict action against offenders. Additionally, he announced job fairs across districts from March 25-27 to connect more youth with entrepreneurial opportunities.

Youth Empowerment Through M-YUVA Scheme

During the event held at Gonda’s Medical College campus, CM Yogi Adityanath reiterated his government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship. He stated, “If young people get the right opportunities, nothing can stop them from moving forward.”

The scheme has already registered over 3 lakh applicants, with more than 32,700 receiving loan approvals. Toolkits were distributed to 200 artisans under ODOP, showcasing the government’s focus on skill development. Adityanath highlighted that Uttar Pradesh’s economy has risen from seventh to second place nationally since 2017, attributing this progress to initiatives like M-YUVA and ODOP.

Building Self-Reliance and Fighting Corruption

CM Adityanath described the transformation of Uttar Pradesh from a “BIMARU” state into a rapidly developing region. He announced job fairs across districts to connect youth with opportunities and advised beneficiaries to undergo training for effective loan management. Taking a firm stance against corruption, he warned beneficiaries against bribery during loan applications and assured strict action against offenders. He added that eliminating corruption is essential for building a robust system that benefits future generations.

A Showcase of Innovation: Start-up Exhibition

The event also featured a start-up exhibition where local entrepreneurs showcased their innovative products and services. This platform aimed to encourage networking among young business owners and potential investors.

Adityanath praised the creativity displayed by participants, stating that such initiatives not only promote local talent but also contribute significantly to the state’s economy. The exhibition served as a testament to the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit thriving in Uttar Pradesh.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

The efforts of the Uttar Pradesh government to empower youth reflect a positive stride towards self-reliance and economic growth. However, ensuring transparency and accessibility in these schemes is critical for their success.
