Two minor sisters, aged 12 and 14, from Gomtinagar in Lucknow have brought to light a horrifying tale of repeated sexual abuse and violence allegedly inflicted by their stepfather over several months. The girls managed to escape their home and made a distress call to the emergency number 1090 on Friday, which led to swift police action.
The 35-year-old accused, who reportedly works in a mall, was detained by the Gomtinagar police based on the serious allegations. The girls disclosed that their stepfather would regularly come home intoxicated and subjected them to sexual abuse, resorting to physical violence if they resisted. The mother of the girls, when informed, allegedly dismissed their complaints and reprimanded them to keep silent, raising serious concerns about the protective environment for the children.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the law and have begun questioning both the accused and the mother while the girls await medical examinations as part of the investigation.
