In a recent announcement, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel affirmed the Gujarat government's unwavering commitment to bolstering infrastructure development for industries, encompassing both land and space-related sectors. The declaration comes as Gujarat's Sanand city prepares to embrace the establishment of a groundbreaking space manufacturing hub.
An instrumental milestone was achieved through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Center (IN-SPACe) — an autonomous entity under the Department of Space, Government of India — and the Government of Gujarat. The agreement solidifies the collaborative efforts to foster the development of a specialized space manufacturing cluster situated in the vicinity of Ahmedabad.
Under the terms of the MoU, IN-SPACe is slated to establish its central offices in Sanand, spearheading the formation and progression of the anticipated Space Manufacturing Cluster. This cluster will facilitate the initiation of diverse manufacturing enterprises closely associated with space technology. In-Space, as the governing body, will provide comprehensive support and technical guidance to ensure the success of these ventures. Furthermore, a dedicated Technical Support and Incubation Center will be administered by IN-SPACe at its headquarters in Bhopal, further reinforcing the initiative's comprehensive framework.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel reiterated the state's resolute commitment to providing robust support for the development of a thriving industrial ecosystem, reinforcing Gujarat's position as a catalyst for pioneering advancements in both conventional and space-oriented industries.
