We often hear of men molesting women, but in a horrifying incident, a 32-year-old woman in New Delhi has been arrested after an auto-rickshaw driver complained that she forcibly tried to have sex with him, while a Tanzanian woman, identified as Hitija, trying to film the act is on the run.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. One of the two women, Renu Lalwani, hired the auto of Umesh Prasad, 41, to commute from South Delhi’s Saket area to Arjun Nagar, about seven kilometers away. She had borrowed rupees 300 from Umesh to return it after reaching her destination.

At Arjun Nagar, she invited the driver to her flat on the pretext of paying him. According to Inspector Vishuddhanand Jha of Safdarjung Enclave police station, Lalwani then offered him water to drink and suddenly locked the door from inside. She tried to elicit sexual favors from him, which he refused to comply with. When he even rejected the wine that was offered to him, she got frustrated, forced herself on him, tore off his clothes and kissed him. The entire incident was filmed by her room-mate. He was also robbed of his money.

Taking advantage of the absence of the two women, who had gone to another room for discussions after an hour, he jumped out of the first-floor balcony, fracturing his leg.

While Lalwani has been arrested by the police, Hitija is still at large. According to o the police, other auto drivers may also have fallen victim to the trap, since four badges and four driving licenses of drivers had been recovered from Lalwani.
