Three men suspected of opening fire at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area have reportedly been arrested in Kota, Rajasthan, after allegedly fleeing the city by train. The firing took place on Sunday evening, October 18, 2026, as Shroff was leaving a football venue near Pushpa Park. While the actor escaped serious injury, his driver and another person were reportedly injured.

The case has been transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch, and investigators are examining the circumstances of the attack, including an unverified claim of responsibility attributed to individuals claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Arrested In Rajasthan

According to reports, the three suspects were traced to Kota following the shooting and arrested by the police. Two of the suspects are reportedly from Haryana, while the third is from Maharashtra. Investigators are expected to examine their alleged roles in the attack, their movements after leaving Mumbai and whether anyone else was involved in planning or facilitating the incident.

The reported arrests mark a significant development in the investigation, although the suspects’ identities and the precise circumstances of their apprehension require confirmation through official police statements. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the police had identified leads concerning the suspects and assured that those responsible would be brought to justice. He also said investigators would look into the people allegedly backing the perpetrators.

The case has been registered under Section 109(1) and Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Arms Act. These provisions concern attempted murder, acts committed by several people with a common intention, and offences involving firearms.

Firing Near Pushpa Park

The incident occurred at around 7 pm on October 18, when Shroff was reportedly returning from a football session near Pushpa Park in Mumbai’s Juhu area. Three men allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at the actor’s car before escaping. Reports indicate that the suspects later abandoned the motorcycle near a railway station and fled by train.

The vehicle has reportedly been recovered by the police, while CCTV footage is being examined to reconstruct the suspects’ movements. Shroff escaped serious injury, although reports said he sustained minor injuries from shattered glass and gunpowder. His driver, identified in reports as Firdous, suffered a gunshot injury to his hand and was taken to Nanavati Hospital.

Another person, reportedly an auto-rickshaw driver or passer-by, was also injured. Mumbai Police registered a case against three unidentified individuals and transferred the investigation to the Crime Branch. Police have also recorded the driver’s statement as part of the investigation.

Gang Link Under Investigation

The firing has also drawn attention to a social media post in which individuals claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang reportedly took responsibility for the attack and issued threats involving people associated with actor Salman Khan. However, the authenticity of the post and the alleged gang connection have not been independently established in the available reports.

These claims must therefore be treated with caution until investigators verify them. Following the incident, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde met Shroff and said the government would not tolerate threats against film personalities. Chief Minister Fadnavis also directed the police to pursue the investigation and take action against those responsible.

Mumbai Police reportedly formed 15 teams to investigate the firing, examine CCTV footage and establish the identities and roles of those involved. The reported arrests in Kota could help investigators establish the motive behind the attack and determine whether it was connected to organised crime, but the conclusions will depend on evidence gathered during the investigation.

The Logical Indian’s Perspective

The firing incident highlights the importance of public safety and the need for an effective, evidence-based response to violent crime. Threats and attacks, whether directed at public figures or ordinary citizens, create fear that can extend well beyond those directly affected.

At the same time, allegations of organised-crime links must be investigated carefully rather than treated as established facts before verification. Law enforcement agencies must ensure a thorough and transparent investigation, protect those affected and hold anyone found responsible accountable through due legal process. Public discussion should also avoid spreading unverified claims that could fuel panic or unfairly implicate individuals. How can authorities strengthen public safety while ensuring that investigations remain transparent, impartial and grounded in evidence?
