This Man Gave His Entire Life To Music, But When Faced With Difficulties He Struggled For Even Living The Logical Indian

October 5th, 2016

Our history & culture is preserved by the artists, in various forms. And music is one of the most vital forms of art. However, we hardly know about the people behind the music. We know nothing about their struggle and personal lives. Here is a heart-breaking story of a man who gave his entire life to music, but when faced with difficulties he struggled for even living, as he gets struck by paralysis and couldn’t produce music. Finally, the music itself came to his rescue. Music healed him physically, emotionally and Sony MIX pledged to support him financially.

They have announced Mr. Roshan Ali – the veteran Dholak player as the Dhun Project Ambassador for 2016 and will be giving Roshan Sahab Rs. 10 lakh to support him in bringing his life back to normalcy which has been impacted by Paralysis since 2011.

The project is an initiative to recognize forgotten musicians of the industry and help them live with dignity, so it is also raising funds for SPIC MACAY to organize a series of events across the country that will enable heritage musicians to perform in schools and colleges.

SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) has been instrumental in preserving various forms of art and music and spreading the legacy of art-forms among the young generation since 1977.

If only we protect the musicians/artists we can protect our art, culture and rich heritage. Sony Mix’s support to Roshan Ali Sahab and to any such artists is much appreciated.
