What was the fault of these small children?

Sunpedh village in Faridabad near Delhi has been on tenterhooks since tuesday. In an apparent case of intercaste violence, the house of a dalit family was allegedly set on fire by members of the upper caste, resulting in the deaths of two sleeping children aged two years and nine months, and causing severe burns to their parents. The mother is still critical.

The incident is being seen as an act of revenge killing by some. As per the police, this recent case has a connection with the murder of three upper caste men in October last year.

This is a shameful case of lawlessness and police inaction, since the state government had earlier asked the police to be alert and prevent any violence in the village.

As per reports, the police have arrested three of the nine accused but we hope that all the guilty persons are duly caught and justice served at the earliest.
