Know Your College” – A new portal launched by government in November 2014 that comprises of relevant information about every college like lab facilities, faculty, intake, hostel facilities, library etc.

How this portal will help you? –

  1. Worried how to gather the relevant and truthful information related to the college of your choice? This Site Provides you detailed description of 10,500 colleges which conduct about 14,000 programs in Technical Education and 35000 colleges conducting at least 20,000 programs in Non-Technical education.
  2. According to the government. this portal is represented as library of information’s related to colleges and its faculty, labs, library, infrastructure, and availability of hostel facilities etc.
  3. Portal is being maintained by AICTE.

How to use the Portal? –

  1. Once you go to the search bar the list of colleges is displayed along with the details like the name of the college, type of the institute, Courses offered. If you want to extract information about any particular college, click on that particular college name and information such as College name, address, Name of the parent organization, year of establishment will be displayed.
  2. Also you can check list of courses offered, intake for the current year, annual fees, details of faculty, Library, Hostel , laboratories, anti-ragging committee and even the student count.

This is an appreciable initiative by the Government which will help students and parents in getting information about good colleges. AICTE should ensure that the information’s should be updated on time and on regular basis and should not be biased towards any college. Incase if any student comes across anything opposite to the information provided over the portal, AICTE should take appropriate step against that particular college.

We hope this would resolve the plight of many students seeking admissions in colleges in India.
