A 34-year-old yoga teacher from Bengaluru, kidnapped and buried alive on October 23, miraculously survived by employing her breathing techniques. Abducted by four men allegedly hired by a woman named Bindu, who suspected her husband of infidelity, the victim was assaulted before being buried in a shallow grave. After the assailants left, she managed to escape and sought help from locals, leading to her hospitalisation. Police have arrested seven individuals allegedly linked to the crime, including Bindu and the owner of a detective agency who allegedly orchestrated the abduction.
Survival Against All Odds
The yoga teacher, identified as Tamannah (name changed), was abducted while returning home from her class near Devanahalli. After being taken to a remote forest in Chikkaballapur district, she was allegedly stripped, molested, and attempted to be strangled. Using her yoga training, she feigned death when her attackers allegedly tried to kill her. Believing she was lifeless, they buried her in a shallow grave before fleeing with her belongings. Once they departed, Tamannah used her breathing control techniques to stay calm and eventually escaped from the grave. She walked approximately three kilometres to find help and was later admitted to a local hospital.
Background of Betrayal
The incident allegedly stemmed from personal jealousy; Bindu, the orchestrator of the kidnapping, suspected her husband Santosh Kumar of having an affair with Tamannah. She allegedly enlisted Satish Reddy, the owner of a private detective agency, to investigate and ultimately harm the yoga instructor. Reddy reportedly befriended Tamannah under the guise of seeking yoga lessons before arranging for her abduction with three accomplices. Following the attack and subsequent arrest of the suspects—including Bindu and Reddy—police have recovered stolen items and are continuing their investigation into the case.
