In a significant shift in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) President Thol. Thirumavalavan has officially extended his party’s unconditional support to Aadhav Arjuna, the Deputy General Secretary of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), to form a new government in the state.
The confirmation letter, handed over recently, marks a strategic alliance between the Dalit-based VCK and actor-turned-politician Vijay’s TVK. This development follows weeks of speculation regarding regional alignments, aiming to present a formidable alternative to the established Dravidian majors in the upcoming governance cycle.
A Formal Alliance for Governance
The official handover of the support letter took place between Thol. Thirumavalavan and Aadhav Arjuna, signaling a unified front. While the VCK has traditionally been part of the DMK-led alliance, this move suggests a desire for a more direct role in power-sharing and policy influence.
Addressing the media, Thirumavalavan stated, “Our support is rooted in the shared vision of social justice and the necessity for a government that truly represents the marginalised.” Aadhav Arjuna, representing TVK, welcomed the move, noting that the “unconditional” nature of the support strengthens their mission to bring transparent and welfare-oriented administration to Tamil Nadu.
