Anuj Sachdeva, the 40-year-old actor recognised for his roles in popular TV serials Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, was allegedly brutally attacked by a fellow resident of his society in Goregaon West, Mumbai, on 14 December 2025.
The incident stemmed from Sachdeva’s complaint in the society WhatsApp group about Singh’s car parked incorrectly in the common area, escalating when Sachdeva, accompanied by friend Priyanka Pereira and walking his dog Simba, confronted the matter; Singh reportedly grabbed a wooden stick from a security guard, striking Sachdeva on the head, back, and leg while hurling abuses and threats such as “Kutte se katwayega?” and vows to kill him, also targeting the dog.
Bleeding profusely from his head, Sachdeva captured the chaos on video, posting it on Instagram as evidence and pleading for intervention from authorities; two security guards eventually intervened to restrain Singh, who fled claiming police could do nothing.
Bangur Nagar police swiftly registered an FIR against Singh under BNS sections 118 (causing hurt by dangerous weapons) and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) by 11:45 pm, with investigations underway, though no statements from Singh, society management, or further arrests have surfaced yet; the video’s virality has sparked public outrage over rising society tensions.
Violent Clash Unfolds on Camera
The harrowing video, now widely circulated, captures the rapid descent from a routine parking dispute into outright violence, with Singh allegedly accusing Sachdeva’s dog of biting him before unleashing a barrage of verbal abuse and physical blows using the borrowed stick, even after the dog was secured away.
A woman in the background is heard desperately calling for security as Sachdeva, visibly injured and with Pereira by his side, pleads for calm amid the assault; the guards’ intervention came just in time, dragging Singh away as he issued chilling death threats, underscoring the peril of unchecked aggression in shared living spaces.
Sachdeva’s Instagram caption adds a raw, personal touch: “I am posting this evidence before this person tries to do any damage to me or my property. He tried hitting my dog and me with a rod for notifying in the society group regarding his car which was parked at the wrong place in the society parking.
Kindly share with people who can take action. I am bleeding from my head”. Residing in Flat 701, Sachdeva emphasised the unprovoked nature of the attack during his late-night walk, highlighting how a simple civic notification spiralled into a life-threatening ordeal, leaving him with severe injuries requiring medical attention.
Actor’s Career Amid Rising Tensions
Anuj Sachdeva, who calls Flat 701 home in the upscale Harmony Mall Residency, has built a steady career in television and OTT platforms, most recently portraying the complex character of Vikram Shandel in ZEE5’s thriller web series Chhal Kapat, which premiered in June 2025 and boasted a strong ensemble cast including Shriya Pilgaonkar, Kamya Ahlawat, Ragini Dwivedi, Tuhina Das, and Yahhve Sharma.
No prior clashes in the society were documented, but the sequence of events paints a picture of simmering frustrations: Sachdeva’s group message about the parking violation prompted Singh’s ire, culminating in the dog barking at him, which he used as pretext for the assault.
The FIR represents a crucial step towards accountability, yet the lack of immediate response from society officials or Singh himself raises questions about internal conflict resolution mechanisms in Mumbai’s densely packed housing complexes, where petty disputes increasingly turn violent amid urban pressures.
Fans and colleagues have rallied online, amplifying Sachdeva’s call for justice and prompting discussions on pet ownership, parking etiquette, and neighbourly conduct in modern residential setups.
The Logical Indian’s Perspective
Incidents like the alleged assault on Anuj Sachdeva expose the fragility of community harmony, where minor irritants such as parking or a barking dog ignite disproportionate rage, eroding trust and endangering lives in spaces meant for peaceful coexistence.
The Logical Indian stands firmly for de-escalation through empathy, open dialogue, and kindness residents must prioritise calm conversations and mediation over sticks and slurs, while authorities enforce swift, fair justice to deter such vigilantism. By fostering mutual respect and robust dispute mechanisms, societies can transform potential flashpoints into opportunities for understanding, upholding the values of harmony that bind us.
