This Wednesday, the Delhi Police exposed and busted a high-profile sex racket being operated from Safdarjung Enclave, South Delhi. Pritindra Nath Sanyal, 62, has been arrested for the same. In a raid conducted by the Income Tax Department one month ago following a tip-off, the officials found a Uzbek woman in Sanyal’s Safdarjung house, who slit her wrists during the raid. She was rushed to the hospital, and the police were sent information regarding the same.

Copies of passports of other foreigners and fake letterheads of MPs were also found in the house. The South Delhi police then took over. Sanyal has been using his Sajdarjung and Vasant Kunj properties for prostitution and human trafficking, Several women of foreign origin have been sent by him as escorts, mostly to wealthy businessmen, army officers, and politicians.

Fake letterheads belonging to MPs Naresh Agarwal and Jagdamba Pal have been retrieved, which the accused had been using to get through the bureaucrats. In addition, he sent text messages while impersonating politicians to get his work done. The police also received statements from the women rescued, which indicated the involvement of a retired Colonel, Ajay Ahlawat. According to the statement given by the Uzbek woman rescued by the IT officials, it was Ahlawat who introduced her to Sanyal.

An FIR under section 370 and 370 A (trafficking and exploitation), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (illegal confinement), 419 (cheating by impersonation) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC was registered. Ahlawat was brought in for questioning, and subsequently, allowed to leave. Pritindra Nath Sanyal has been arrested. Details of his phone records and bank accounts are being investigated.

The Logical Indian lauds the Income Tax Department and the Delhi Police on their rapid and efficient actions which have led to the arrest of a man involved in a crime so inhuman and despicable.
